Atlantic Hurricanes – Landfalls by State

Since records have been taken in 1851 to the present, a total of 306 Atlantic Hurricanes have made landfall along the United States coastline from Maine to Texas. The most hurricane, major hurricane, and Cat 4 and 5 hurricanes have occurred in Florida. Below are the lists of hurricane, major hurricane, and Cat 4 and 5 hurricane landfalls by state.

Hurricane Irene was one of a few hurricanes to impact New Jersey. The Garden State’s unique position along the Mid-Atlantic coast of the United States makes it quite difficult for hurricanes to make landfall there.
