GWC Weather Footage–July 13, 2013–Low Clouds and Fog

Here is weather footage video of the low clouds and fog that developed at Waterfront Park in South Amboy on Saturday evening. On this day, there were numerous storms that moved over the same area in parts of Monmouth and Middlesex counties, and brought heavy rains to places such as Old Bridge, Matawan, and Aberdeen.

GWC Time Lapse–July 7, 2013–Early Evening Thunderstorm

Here is a time lapse video of a thunderstorm developing over portions of Central Jersey from Waterfront Park in South Amboy. The storm didn’t directly go over Waterfront Park, but the winds gusted to at least 50 miles per hour when the gust front came in. Vivid lightning could also be seen from the storm as it moved northward into Northern New Jersey. The storm did manage to cool and dry things out a bit. Monday’s temperatures and humidity levels were lower.

GWC Time Lapse–July 4, 2013–Clouds Dissipate at Cold Brook

Here is a time lapse video of weather conditions during the late afternoon of July 4th at Cold Brook Nature Preserve in the Oldwick Village section of Hunterdon County. It was the beginnings of the third heatwave of the Summer of 2013. Temperatures got up to just about 90 degrees in South Plainfield as well as the rest of the Central Jersey area. Couple that with high humidity, and clouds bubbled up during the afternoon, but dissipated before nightfall.

GWC Weather Footage–July 3, 2013–South Amboy Shower

Here is a video of a shower developing at Waterfront Park in South Amboy on the day before Independence Day. Clouds were on the move near the Jersey Shore as conditions continued to remained humid in the Mid-Atlantic. Temperatures were not as warm as they were last week, but dew points were still in the mid to upper 70s.

Here is a time lapse video of weather conditions in South Amboy on July 3rd. The heat and humidity were at it again, and it produced quite a bit of cumulus and eventually cumulonimbus clouds as a shower developed at Waterfront Park.

Here is a time lapse video of weather conditions at Washington Rock in Green Brook on July 2nd. On this day, there was a lot of cumulus clouds in the area as the heat and humidity combined to provide a tropical feel to the air. Skies grew darker as some brief showers developed an hour or so before sunset.

Here is some footage of the cumulus clouds that developed last week in a couple locations in Central Jersey. It was quite a cloudy week. Lots of heat and humidity produced instability that resulted in a plethora of cumulus clouds.

Here is a weather footage video of weather conditions at Cold Brook Nature Preserve in Oldwick, New Jersey located in Hunterdon County in late June 2013. On this day, the temperatures were up near 90 degrees with high humidity levels, and that resulted in quite a bit of cumulus clouds in the area. Eventually, the Storm Prediction Center in Norman, Oklahoma issued a Tornado Watch for the region, but thankfully nothing that severe developed.

Here is a time lapse video taken of weather conditions near Raritan Center on June 25th. The footage captures a late afternoon thunderstorm that brought a significant downpour to the area. Approximately a third of an inch fell in a very short amount of time.
