Hurricane Earl was once an intense Category Four Hurricane on the Saffir-Simpson Scale with maximum sustained winds of 145 miles per hour. However, since then, it has weakened to have winds of 105 miles per hour. The storm is also not expected to have a direct impact on the Jersey Shore.
