Here is a slideshow from photos taken of a recent winter storm that affected the Central Jersey area. This snowstorm was perhaps the biggest of the year with at least 10 inches of snow here in South Plainfield. Winds were also gusting up to 40 miles per hour. The barometric pressure dropped from 30.49 inches on Wednesday to 29.03 inches on Thursday night. The barometric pressure bottomed out at an equivalent of a Category One Hurricane. Snowfall rates were up to 4 inches per hour at times, and there was even some thunder and lightning.
