GWC Time Lapse–November 1, 2013–Squall Line Rolls Through GWC

Here is a time lapse video of weather conditions at the GWC Weather Station in South Plainfield on first day of November 2013. This is another view of the squall line coming through South Plainfield, but this is from the Greg’s Weather Center WX Station. On this day, a powerful cold front pushed in from the west, and brought in a squall line that stretched from the New Jersey/New York border in the north to Northern Delaware in the South. The squall line brought with it brief heavy rain, and strong gusty winds. The front pushed through town at about 9:45 AM EDT, and tallied about 0.20 inches of rain while winds gusted to around 40 miles per hour. The barometric pressure fell to 29.60 inches of Hg as the squall line passed through. Temperature before the line came through was 68 degrees, and then dropped to 62 within 15 minutes of the squall line’s passage. The temperature would later climb back up to 68 degrees by the mid-afternoon.
