The first storm brought a heavy downpour with rainfall rates of over 7 inches per hour at one point in South Plainfield. The second storm stayed to the Northwest of the area, and moved through Union and Essex County, but provided some interesting cloud formations. Total rain for the day was 0.86 inches to put the rainfall total for the month to over 5 inches.
