Another Round Of Severe Weather On Monday?

NWS Offices In New York And New Jersey Disagree

Following the severe weather outbreak that gripped the Tri-State, there didn’t seem to be any indications that another round was possible for the next several days.  While forecasts indicated that another cold front was going to push through the region on Monday, none of them mentioned anything about severe weather until today.

Looking at the latest information from the National Weather Service Offices in Mount Holly (NJ), Upton (NY), and State College (PA), there are Hazardous Weather Outlooks hinting at the possiblity of severe weather in Central Pennsylvania early Monday morning, and in the New York City Metro area by Monday afternoon.

However, the Mount Holly office, which covers Eastern Pennsylvania including Philadephia and most of New Jersey didn’t indicate anything about the possibility of severe weather.  The forecast for South Plainfield is calling for showers and a high temperature near 80 degrees.  This conflicts with the outlook for Plainfield, which is in Union County, and covered by the Upton NWS office.

One thing is for sure though, this second cold front is expected to help keep conditions comfortable for much of the rest of next week.  The heat and humidity may try to make a second comeback on Friday and Saturday.
