Severe Thunderstorm Watch In Effect For Mid-Atlantic

Good afternoon everyone. The sun had come out for a bit here in Northwestern Middlesex County, but it is still fighting a strong tug of war with a pesky low pressure system, which is spreading scattered showers and thunderstorms around the Mid-Atlantic.

The emergence of sunlight though will act as a catalyst in the development of strong to severe thunderstorms. In response, the National Weather Service Office in Mount Holly, New Jersey has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Watch for Central Jersey, Northern New Jersey, Northwestern New Jersey, East Central Pennsylvania, Northeast Pennsylvania, and Southeast Pennsylvania.

There are indications that some of these thunderstorms mayl produce significant downpours that will result in localized street flooding. The region has already been thoroughly saturated by rains from over the past several days including several downpours on Wednesday. The watch is in effect until 8:00 PM EDT.
