September Starts Out Where August Left Off With Another Hot Day

Mercury Soars To Near 96 Degrees In South Plainfield

The month of September began much like the month of August ended with more heat. On Wednesday, the mercury climbed to 95.9 degrees here in South Plainfield. It was the fourth straight day that temperatures climbed to 90 degrees or better in Northwest Middlesex County. This was the warmest of the four days by over a degree. On Tuesday, the temperature reached 94.8 degrees.

Since May 7th, the mercury has gone over 90 degrees on 36 different occasions. Here is the breakdown by month here in South Plainfield:

Temperatures are expected to rise again into the mid 90s on Thursday. If they do, it will match the longest number of consecutive days with 90 degree heat.
