Erika Diminishes In Northeast Caribbean

While I was frantically trying to figure out how to fix the problems with the Hurricaneville Info Center database, Tropical Storm Erika was rapidly fading in the Northeastern Caribbean. Like Danny, it had gained the attention of forecasters, and grew to have winds sustained at 60 miles per hour, but was disorganized, and had to battle through too much to become a stronger storm or hurricane.

The upper level winds were just too hostile for development. As of the 11:00 PM EDT Thursday Advisory from the National Hurricane Center, Erika had disintegrated into a remnant low. The prognosis for future regeneration isn’t good either. According to the latest Tropical Weather Outlook, upper level winds are expected to continue being unfavorable towards development, and chances of reformation are less than 30 percent over the next 48 hours.
