GWC Storm Footage–August 19, 2011–Return Of The Deluge

Here is some storm footage of a thunderstorm that brought a return of torrential rain to South Plainfield as well as much of New Jersey on Friday. The storm, which also produced vivid lightning, dumped 1.70 inches of rain in a two hour period with 1.55 inches occurring in the first half hour. It also produced approximately 300 lightning strikes over 25 minutes preceding the rain. It was the fifth time in the past six days that there had been measurable rain here in South Plainfield, and the 13th time this month. So far, there has been 9.36 inches of rain in August 2011 with 7.06 inches occurring this week alone.
