Disturbance In Eastern Pacific Drawing Interest

While things are fairly tranquil in the Tropical Atlantic at the moment, there could be something firing up in the Eastern Pacific. According to the latest Tropical Weather Outlook for the EPAC given out by the National Hurricane Center earlier this afternoon (EDT), there was a medium chance between (30 and 50 percent) of a tropical disturbance located some 800 miles to the Southwest of Cabo San Lucas to develop into a depression or storm over the next 48 hours. The latest report from the Weather Channel indicates that there may be some slow development with this broad area of low pressure over the next few days although it does go on to note that the low is no threat to land.
