At Least Two Dead In The Wake Of Hurricane Bill

Good morning again. If you didn’t catch the morning news today, there have been reports of the first fatalities in the United States from Hurricane Bill. According to the Associated Press, two deaths have been attributed to the storm. A seven year old girl in Maine was swept away by the high waves and dangerous surf from Bill. The incident occurred in Maine’s Acadia National Park’s Thunder Hole some 110 miles Northeast of Portland. Meanwhile, in New Smyrna Beach, Florida, a 54 year old swimmer was pronounced dead at a local hospital after being swept ashore unconscious by the rough seas. Bill, which was a Category One Hurricane on Sunday was downgraded to a Tropical Storm, and now is losing its tropical characteristics as it races to the East-Northeast at 43 miles per hour some 190 miles to the northeast of Cape Race, Newfoundland.
