Here is a time lapse video of weather conditions at South Amboy on the evening of May 10th, Mother’s Day 2015. This video captures the sun setting over Waterfront Park in South Amboy. On this day, the weather was sunny, but quite a bit on the muggy side. Although the temperature got only into the low 80s, it felt downright tropical outside with the dew point peaking at 71 degrees at GWC in South Plainfield. The increased humidity, which was caused by a southerly flow that pumped in moisture from Tropical Storm Ana making landfall in the Carolinas, helped raise the heat index into the mid 80s around Central Jersey.
